Lack of competence in the health service directly impacts patient’s safety and life. WHO predicts a shortage of 15 million healthcare workers worldwide by 2030. The lack of healthcare workers is already an issue in Norway and the effects are clear.

Why is this important?

More than ever, there is a need for effective training methods and learning tools to quickly ensure that all healthcare workers acquire the skills and knowledge needed to provide proper healthcare.

The most critical group to train is those without formal education. In Norway, 30% of the health workers in the municipal health service is without formal education. In Europe, there are 3.9 million nurses and 3.7 million other health personnel who need training and maintenance of competence (Eurostat 2023).

A survey conducted in a large municipal in Norway showed that 60% of healthcare workers asked would use CTD Health to train in their own spare time (without getting paid) if it was available for them.

The solution

CTD Health allows healthcare workers to effectively train when they want, as often as they want, and with whom they want – time efficient and without costly course or travel expenses. They can communicate with the patient and even feel the patient’s pulsebeat. A study by PWC shows that training in VR is 400% more effective than classroom training.

Uncover our red flags.

  • The solution to this: Our medical collaborators are ensuring medical accuracy. They are involved in creating the national guidelines for medical training in the municipal health service in Norway. Additionally, we have a doctor on our advisory board with experience in creating and hosting traditional medical training simulations.

  • The public health sector is slow, with long processes and with many requirements.

The solution to this: Our collaborators ensure that our application meets all the requirements. They are also contributing to writing a guide on how to acquire and use VR effectively for medical training.
